The Wisconsin Attorney General is responsible for criminal prosecutions of the state's campaign finance laws. The first step is to file a complaint with the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board[1]. It is up to the Executive Director and the Staff Attorneys on the GAB to determine if there is enough probable cause to move forward any investigation. The Government Accountability Board is responsible for prosecuting all civil violations under the law[1]
