Montana will have a primary election on June 3, 2014 and a general election on November 4, 2014. Voters will elect candidates to serve in the following state and federal offices:

The filing deadline for major party candidates is March 10, 2014. For independent and minor party candidates, the filing deadline is May 27, 2014. To qualify as a political party in time for the 2014 elections, paperwork must be filed by March 3, 2014.[1][2]

As of October 2013, there are three recognized political parties in Montana.[3] Political parties not officially recognized by the state and ineligible to participate in the primary process may nominate candidates for office by petition. The party name and, in five words of less, the principle the body represents must be stated on the nominating petition.[4]
