Daniel Anderson joined Ballotpedia and the Lucy Burns Institute in June, 2013 as a Staff Writer specializing on the School Board Elections project. In August, 2013, he took on the position of Project Director for the same project.

Originally from Jackson, Michigan, he attended Hillsdale College and graduated summa cum laude in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy and a minor in History. At Hillsdale College, he also served as an officer for the Hillsdale Film Society and led a large campus volunteering program meant to provide local elementary schoolchildren with college student mentors to help them learn to read. During his time at college, he spent a semester living in Washington D.C. and interning with the public policy department of a non-profit grassroots organization.

He currently resides in Grass Lake, Michigan, which is close to his hometown of Jackson. He equally enjoys reading classical works, political tomes, economic texts and bad science fiction novels.
