Nick Katers is an Associate Project Director for the School Board Elections Project.

Katers joined Ballotpedia in April 2013 as an Assistant Staff Writer working on state legislative profiles. He later became a Staff Writer for the School Board Elections Project.

As an Associate Project Director, Katers primarily helps manage the development of school district election profiles and related pages.

Katers grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin and currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He earned a BA in History from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and a MA in History from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Prior to joining Ballotpedia, Katers taught American history at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI and the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. He also worked as a freelance writer and editor.
