Phil Heidenreich is a die-hard Pittsburgh sports fan (baseball doesn't count), craft beer enthusiast, and master fisherman. He joined Ballotpedia in May 2013 as a staff writer on the Congress team after spending 3 years working in communications and marketing.

Phil grew up in Butler, Pennsylvania but has enjoyed the ability to travel, visiting Canada every summer for fishing, touring Germany with a school exchange program, taking a month-long trip through Thailand with brief stops in Laos and Cambodia, and traveling throughout the United States. He lived in Erie, Pennsylvania for seven years before moving to his current stop in Virginia.

In 2010, Phil graduated from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College with Bachelors of Art in History and Political Science. He has interned and been an associate with organizations in Washington, D.C. and enjoys letting people discover politics both nationally and locally.
