Barbara Lifton is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 125. She was first elected to the chamber in 2002.

Lifton has political experience as the treasurer of the 3rd Ward, Ithaca City Democratic Committee, and as a member of the Democratic Response Group and the Tompkins County Democratic Committee.

Biography

Lifton earned her B.A. and M.A. in English from the State University of New York at Geneseo.[1] Her professional experience includes serving as chief of staff for New York State Assembly member Marty Luster, and working as an English teacher for Ithaca Schools and Geneseo Central School.
