Baron Braswell is the incumbent of the Battlefield District on the Spotsylvania County School Board. Braswell ran an unopposed race on November 5, 2013 since incumbent Linda Wieland did not seek re-election.

Biography

Braswell is an insurance agent. He initially got involved with the school board in 2006 when his son, a student at Courtland High School, was murdered. After the incident, Braswell volunteered as a grief counselor, character educator for football programs and coach for junior varsity football.[1]

Braswell said his priorities are eliminating student athlete fees and proposing a pay increase for teachers who have been with the district for five years.[1]
