Barry Nelson was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 9 of the Wisconsin State Senate.[1]

Nelson was a 2012 Republican candidate for District 25 of the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Elections for 17 seats in the Wisconsin State Senate will take place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 12, 2014. The general election will be held on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Martha Laning was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Devin Lemahieu was unopposed in the Republican primary. Laning and Lamahieu will face off in the general election. Barry Nelson (R) was removed from the candidate list before the primary.[2][1]

Nelson ran in the 2012 election for Wisconsin State Assembly District 25. He was defeated by Paul Tittl in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012. Jim Brey defeated Luke Bushman, Ron Gruett, and Bernie Starzewski in the Democratic primary. Independent incumbent Robert Ziegelbauer did not run for re-election. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[3]
