A Benzonia Township Library Levy Increase measure was on the May 3, 2011 ballot in the township of Benzonia, which is in Benzie County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 491 Approveda
  • NO 230

This measure sought to add to the current library levy by a rate of $.60 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a period of five years in order to help pay for library services offered in the township.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Township of Benzonia property tax rate limitation be increased in the amount of 0.6 mill ($0.60 per $1,000 of taxable value), and shall such millage be levied in the years 2011-2016, both inclusive, on taxable property in the Township, upon the condition that if such increase in approved, the current library millages of the Villages of Benzonia and Beulah shall be eliminated and be replaced by such Township millage?[2]
