Herpin served on the Colorado Springs City Council for five years.
Herpin earned his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas and his M.A. in Computer Resource Management from Webster University. His professional experience includes working as a defense contractor. He served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1980 and the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1985.
