Bill Diamond is a former Democratic member of the Maine State Senate, representing District 12 from 1982 to 1986 and from 2004 to 2012. Diamond was previously the Maine Secretary of State from 1989 to 1997 and also served in the Maine House of Representatives from 1976 to 1982.

Diamond earned his Bachelor's degree from Gorham State Teacher's College in 1968 and his Master's degree from the University of Maine in 1972. Diamond also earned another Master's degree from the University of Southern Maine in 1994 and New England University in 1998.

In addition to being a Senator, Diamond is a former teacher and current small business owner.

Diamond ran for re-election to the 12th District Seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. Ann-Marie Grenier ran for the seat on the Republican ticket. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[1]
