Bill Hedge was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House representing the 6th Congressional District of Missouri. It was his first time running for office.[1] Hedge was defeated by Kyle Yarber in the Democratic primary on August 7, 2012.[2]


Hedge currently serves as a pastor at St. Francis Baptist Temple. [3] He was an Assistant Professor at NWMSU from 2004 to 2012, and an Administrator, teacher, coach and counselor in the St. Joseph School District from 1974 to 2003.[1]


Campaign themes


In information submitted to Ballotpedia, Hedge stated:

"I, W. A. (Bill) Hedge, am a candidate for the U.S. House, Missouri. 6th District. My candidacy will be for the people. The centerpiece of this campaign is the “truth.” Our Declaration of Independence clearly states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Right, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” This clearly includes all women and children. W. A. (Bill) Hedge’s candidacy is driven to do the right thing because it is the right thing to do."

Hedge ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Missouri's 6th District. He faced Ted Rights, Ronald William Harris, and Kyle Yarber in the Democratic primary on August 7, 2012. Hedge was defeated by Kyle Yarber in the Democratic primary.[4]
