Kuisle is running for election as Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota. He is seeking the Republican nomination in the open primary election as the running mate of gubernatorial candidate Jeff Johnson. Current incumbent Mark Dayton, a Democrat first elected governor in 2010, will run for a second term in 2014.
