Pigott is a farmer. He earned his BS from Mississippi State University and attended Pearl River Community College.
He is a member of Americans with Disabilities (ADA) of Mississippi, Farm Bureau, Mississippi Cattleman's Association, and the Mississippi Bee's Council.

Pigott is running in the 2011 election for Mississippi House of Representatives District 99. He ran unopposed in the primary on August 2, 2011. No Democratic candidates filed to run for election. The general election takes place on November 8, 2011. 
On November 6, 2007 Pigott was re-elected in District 99, defeating Democratic challenger Winston Fortenberry in the general election. He defeated William (Randy) Stogner in the primary election by a margin of 841 to 431.
