Bill Shumway was a Democratic candidate for District 5 of the Arizona House of Representatives. The primary election was on August 24, 2010 and the general election was on November 2.

Shumway has worked for the railroad for the past 41 years. He first worked as a brakeman and later as an engineer. He also represented the UTU & BLE railway unions on their state legislative boards.

Shumway served as Chairman of the Navajo County Democrats for two years as well.

Shumway and Prescott Winslow were unopposed in the August 24 primary. They were then defeated by Republicans Brenda Barton and Chester Crandell in the November 2 general election.[1]
