Hunskor ran in the 2012 election for North Dakota Senate District 6. Hunskor and Cindy Shattuck ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 12. They defeated Myron Hanson and former District 7 incumbent Dick Anderson in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2]
