Bonnie Girard was a 2012 Republican candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 4th Congressional District of Virginia. Girard was defeated by Randy Forbes in the Republican primary on June 12, 2012.[1]


Girard earned her B.A. in political science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She also received her diploma in Chinese language from Foreign Affairs College in Beijing, China[2]

In 1996, Girard founded a consulting group to help U.S. companies access Chinese markets.[2]


Campaign platform

Girard's campaign focus is on improving economic growth in Virginia and improving U.S.-China relations.[2]

Girard ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Virginia's 4th District. She sought the nomination on the Republican ticket, and was defeated by incumbent Randy Forbes in the primary.[1]
