Brad Zaun is a Republican member of the Iowa State Senate, representing District 20 since 2013. He previously represented District 32 from 2005 to 2013. Zaun was a member of the Urbandale City Council from 1996 to 1998. He then served as Mayor of Urbandale from 1998 to 2004. He joined the Iowa State Senate in 2005 and has served in that position since. He is currently an Assistant Minority Leader.

Zaun attended Ellsworth Community College. He went on to earn his Bachelor's from Grandview College.

Zaun is the owner of Zaun's Trustworthy Hardware. He is also Vice President of R and R Realty Marketing Group.

Zaun ran for re-election to the Iowa State Senate in 2012. Due to redistricting, he ran in District 20. Zaun ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 5, 2012. No candidates filed to run in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]


On November 4, 2008, Zaun was re-elected to the 32nd District Seat in the Iowa State Senate with no opposition. [4] He raised $47,669 for his campaign. [5]
