Maher is running in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 101. He is running against incumbent Claudia Tenney -- who is also running on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets -- in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. Daniel R. Carter is running unopposed in the Democratic primary; he is also running on the Working Families Party ticket. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012. [1]
