Brian Newberry (b. December 10, 1971) is a Republican member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 48.

Newberry graduated with a degree in American History/Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993. He went on to receive his JD from Temple University School of Law in 1996.

Newberry has worked as an Intern for the Philadelphia United States Attorney's Office and as a Federal Judge Intern. He currently works as an attorney.

Newberry was a candidate for the Rhode Island State Senate in 2004 but was not elected. He then ran for election to the Rhode Island House of Representatives in 2006, but he was again denied. He then joined the Rhode Island House in the following election in 2009. He has served in that position since, representing the 48th District.

Newberry won re-election in the 2012 election for Rhode Island House of Representatives District 48. Newberry was unopposed in the September 11 Republican primary and defeated Michael E. Connolly (D) and Linda Thibault (I) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [1]

Newberry won re-election to the 48th District Seat in 2010. He was unopposed in the September 14 Republican primary and defeated Democrat David Lovett in the general election on November 2, 2010.[2][3]

In 2008 Newberry was elected to the Rhode Island House of Representatives District 48. Newberry (R) finished with 2,775 votes and was followed by Raymond Church (D) with 2,582 votes and Gary Ezovski (I) with 1,763 votes.[4] Newberry raised $4,940 for his campaign fund.[5]
