Issues

Campaign themes

  • Transportation

Excerpt: "As a long-time transportation advocate, I am committed to working with the Governor and the rest of the General Assembly to help resolve the transportation issues we all face on a daily basis. I supported the Governor’s plan to spend $4 billion on transportation and will continue to work to find innovative solutions that will speed up our commutes, increase METRO’s reliability and invest in our crumbling transportation infrastructure."

  • Jobs and the Economy

Excerpt: "In Richmond, I will work to reduce the regulatory and tax burden on Virginia’s small businesses, promote Virginia industry and work with the Governor and to continue attracting top quality employers to Northern Virginia."

  • Education

Excerpt: "I am committed to maintaining the excellence of our public schools, but doing so means more than simply throwing money at them. We need common sense reforms that ensure that our schools continue to be the kinds of places where kids can learn and grow, becoming responsible citizens in a vibrant community."

  • Fiscal Discipline

Excerpt: "I will be a zealous advocate in Richmond to cut wasteful spending, improve efficiency and ensure that our tax dollars are being put to work the right way. I will work with my colleagues in the Northern Virginia delegation to champion proposals to bring more of Northern Virginia’s tax dollars back to Northern Virginia."
