A Calhoun County 911 Levy Implementation measure will be on the August 7, 2012 ballot in Calhoun County.

This measure seeks to implement a 911 fee which would be set at a rate of $2.25 per month in order to help pay for 911 emergency services in the county as well as facility and equipment costs.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

For the period of July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2022 both inclusive, shall Calhoun County, Michigan be authorized to assess a county 9-1-1 charge on monthly billings to each service user located within Calhoun County at a rate not to exceed $2.25 each month (if approved, replacing the current $.60 surcharge), subject to annual approval by the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners, to be used exclusively for the funding of 9-1-1 emergency telephone call answering and dispatch services within Calhoun County, including facilities, equipment and operations?[2]
