California Common Cause

California Common Cause is a political advocacy organization based in California. On its website, the group describes itself as "a non-profit, non-partisan citizens' lobby organization." This organizations purpose is to "make public officials and public institutions accountable and responsive to citizens." California Common Cause claims to attempt to "strengthen public participation and to ensure that the political process serve the public interest, rather than the special interests."[1]

Instant runoff voting

California Common Cause, along with the New America Foundation, hosted a summit in June 2009 in San Jose to discuss a proposed San Jose Instant Runoff Voting Charter Amendment.[2]
