A California Medical Marijuana Regulation, Control and Taxation Initiative (#11-0098) has been submitted to the Attorney General of California's office as a potential contender for the state's 2012 ballot as an initiated state statute.

Don Duncan and Ron Lind submitted a letter requesting a ballot title on December 20, 2011. A ballot title and summary is expected by February 14, 2012. Once those documents are issued, sponsors will have 150 days to collect 504,760 signatures to qualify the proposed initiative for the ballot.

Duncan and Lind refer to the measure as "The Medical Marijuana Regulation, Control and Taxation Act."
