"The NAACP’s principal objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority citizens of the United States and eliminate race prejudice." They accomplish this goal by working to "remove all racial discrimination barriers through democratic processes." The NAACP works on issues such as "school desegregation, fair housing, employment and voter registration, top health and equal economic opportunity," by working with government to help create legislation that helps the impoverished and those who are not well represented in the democratic process.
