California Proposition 1, Bonds for the Highway System, was on the July 1, 1919 ballot in California as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved.

Proposition 1 approved the issuance and sale of $40 million in state bonds "for completing uncompleted portions of state highways system" that were laid out in the State Highway Acts of 1909 and 1915.

Constitutional changes

Proposition 1 added Section 2 to Article XVI of the California Constitution.
