Frelier graduated from Penfield High School in 1978. He earned a bachelor's degree from Calvin College and a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan College of Engineering. Frelier also has a master's degree from the University of Rochester, William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration.[1]

Notable item: Chandra X-Ray Telescope Observatory 1995-1997 Specifically worked with a team that focused on the Aft HRMA structure and the Sunshade Door. I only designed one item that went onto the telescope and that was a small drill bushing used for assembly but remaining on the door.

Primary focus for the Chandra Observatory project was designing ground support equipment to facilitate alignment and assembly of portions of the High Resolution Mirror Assembly. 1983 – 1995 Mechanical Engineer, Both Manufacturing Engineer and Design Engineer Eastman Kodak Company, Copy Products.
