The Capitol Preservation Committee is a joint legislative service agency of the Pennsylvania General Assembly.

Per the Senate and House Rules, joint committees of the Pennsylvania General Assembly are assigned by the President Pro Tempore and by the Speaker of the House. Vacancies in the joint committees are filled by the President Pro Tempore and by the Speaker.[1][2]

As an independent Commonwealth Committee, its purpose is implementing and directing programs to conserve and restore the Pennsylvania State Capitol and its contents — preserving and maintaining it for future generations.[3][4]
