Carlos Lopez-Cantera is a Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 113th District since 2004. He currently serves as House Majority Leader.

Lopez-Cantera works as an Industrial Commercial Real Estate Consultant at the Pan American Consulting Incorporated. He has previously been an Industrial Real Estate Agent at the Pan American Group, Incorporated, and Statewide Director of the Criminal Justice Reform Councils, Criminal Justice Committee, Florida State Senate.

He is a member of Big Brother Big Sisters of Greater Miami, Delta Sigma Pi, Hispanic American Business Association, and Realtors Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches. [1]

Issue positions

Lopez-Cantera did not provide answers to the Florida State Legislative Election 2008 Political Courage Test. The test provides voters with how a candidate would vote on the issues if elected.[2]

Lopez-Cantera ran for re-election to the 113th District seat in 2010. He did not have any opposition in the August 24 primary. He defeated Alex Cruzet (D) and Waldo Faura (NPA) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[3]

On November 4, 2008, Lopez-Cantera won re-election to the Florida House of Representatives from Florida's 113th District, defeating Javier Betancourt (D). Lopez-Cantera received 20,726 votes in the election while Betancourt received 14,868 votes.[4] Lopez-Cantera raised $365,787 for his campaign; Betancourt raised $14,776.[5]
