The sale of Flanders Mansion
Flanders Mansion is a National Register Property located in the Mission Trail Nature Preserve. The city council of Carmel-By-The-Sea voted in December 1999 to sell the property. The "Flanders Foundation" was formed to resist the sale. The Flanders Foundation has filed a variety of lawsuits against the city since 2005 to prevent the sale of the property, costing the town over $800,000 in legal fees.
