Laine earned her MA in Psychology from Saint Mary's University and BS in Education from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
She has worked as a teacher in Minneapolis Public Schools and as Financial Director of the Novalis Institute.
Laine is a member of the Interfaith Alliance, Saint Marks Episcopal Church, and the City of Columbia Heights City Charter Commission. She is married and has 5 children.[1]
