Dolecheck is a farmer.
He served on the County Republican Central Committee from 1986-1996, President of the Farm Bureau of Ringold County from 1988-1992, President of County Pork Producers from 1980-1984, and is a member of the Iowa Cattlemen's Association.
Dolecheck ran for re-election to the 96th District Seat in 2010 with no opposition. He was also unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.
