Rose is running for election to the 51st District seat in the Illinois State Senate in 2012. He is running against Tom Pliura in the Republican Primary on March 20, 2012. Incumbent Kyle McCarter (R) is not running for re-election in District 51. Instead he is running in District 54.[2]
