Charlene Cannon (b. September 19, 1955) was a Democratic candidate for District 45 of the Alabama House of Representatives. The primary election was on June 1, 2010 and the general election was on November 2.

Cannon has served as a Volunteer for Bernard Kincaid for Mayor, Arthur Davis for Congress, and Obama for President in 2000, 2002, and 2008, respectively.

Cannon earned her AS in General Education from Jefferson State Community College in 1977. She went on to receive her APOST in Law Enforcement from Birmingham Police Academy in 1979.

Cannon worked for the Birmingham Police Department from 1978 to 2008. During this time she worked as Officer from 1978 to 1983, Sergeant from 1983 to 1992, Lieutenant from 1992 to 1998, and Captain from 1998 to 2008.

Cannon is divorced and has two children.

Cannon defeated Larry R. Cate in the June 1 primary. She was then defeated by incumbent Owen Drake in the November 2 general election.[1][2]
