Busby is running in the 2011 election for Mississippi House of Representatives District 111. He ran unopposed in the primary on August 2, 2011. Democratic incumbent Brandon Jones ran unopposed in the August 2 Democratic primary. The general election takes place on November 8, 2011. [1]

Voting record challenged

Busby sent out campaign mailers to voters in early October, claiming that Jones did not vote on several bills that addressed school district accountability, railway funding and authorizing University Medical Center in Jackson to donate extra food. Jones stated, "The truth is that I have voted on every single bill mentioned in this misleading ad."

Voting records show Jones didn't vote on the final version of two of them and on the preliminary version of one. Bubsy declared, "He did not vote on these final bills as they were being considered to send to the governor, and the voting record proves it. His committee votes do not constitute a completion of his obligation to the constituents of District 111."[2]
