Chalres Tivenan was a 2011 Democratic candidate for District 10 of the New Jersey State Senate.

Tivenan is an attorney, and owns and operates his own practice, Charles P Tivenan, Attorney at Law in Brick, New Jersey. Tivenan's firm provides legal services in real estate law, wills, estates, trusts, and elder law.

Tivenan ran unopposed in the 2011 New Jersey State Senate primary on June 7, 2011. He was defeated by Republican representative James Holzapfel in the November 2, 2011 general election.
