Wyrick started his family dairy in 1980 and is currently still running the business. He served on the Board of Director of the Ottawa County Conservation District from 1999-2004. Additionally from 1998-2006 Wyrick served as a representative of the Southeast Council of Dairy Farmers of America. From 2007-2008 Sen. Wyrick was appointed as Democratic Whip.
