Hooker ran in the 2010 election for Vermont State Senate Rutland District. Hooker was defeated by Democratic incumbent Bill Carris and Republican incumbents Margaret Flory and Kevin Mullin in the general election on November 2, 2010. Hooker, Flory, Mullin, and Thomas Depoy defeated Carolyn Schwalbe in the Republican primary election on August 24, 2010.[2][3]
