A Chippewa Township Fire Levy Renewal measure will be on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Chippewa, which is in Mecosta County.

This measure seeks to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for fire operational and equipment costs in the township.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Township of Chippewa, Mecosta County, Michigan, renew a levy of 1 mill ($1 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of 4 years from 2013-2016 inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for the purchase of firefighting equipment and other capital and operating expenditures for provision of fire protection services?[2]
