Chris Johnson is a Democratic member of the Maine State Senate, representing District 20. Johnson was first elected in the February 14, 2012 special election. The special election was called to fill the vacancy created when David Trahan (R) resigned in December 2011 to head the Sportman’s Alliance of Maine. Johnson was sworn in on February 16, 2012.[1][2]



General election

Johnson is running for re-election in 2012. He ran unopposed in the June 12, 2012 Democratic primary, and will face Leslie Fossel in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3][4]

Special election

Johnson defeated Rep. Dana Dow (R) in the special election on February 14, 2012. Johnson garnered 54% of the vote. The election of Johnson was seen a significant upset.[5]
