Chris Johnson is a Democratic member of the Maine State Senate, representing District 20 since February 14, 2012. He won a special election was called to fill the vacancy created when David Trahan (R) resigned in December 2011 to head the Sportman’s Alliance of Maine.[1][2]

Johnson won re-election in 2012. He ran unopposed in the June 12, 2012 Democratic primary, and defeated Leslie Fossel (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3][4]

Johnson defeated Rep. Dana Dow (R) in the special election on February 14, 2012. Johnson garnered 54% of the vote. The election of Johnson was seen as a significant upset.[5]
