Brown won re-election in the 2013 election for New Jersey General Assembly District 8. Brown was bracketed with Maria Rodriguez-Gregg, and defeated W. Scott Fay and Gary E. Jacques in the June 4 Republican primary. He and Maria Rodriguez-Gregg (R) defeated Robert McGowan (D) and Ava Markey (D) in the general election which took place on November 5, 2013.[2] [3][4][5]

On November 8, 2011, Brown won election to the New Jersey General Assembly. Brown replaced Patrick Delany on the ballot after his resignation. Delany and incumbent Scott Rudder ran unopposed in the Republican Primary on June 7. Brown and Rudder defeated Anita Lovely (D), Pam Finnerty (D) and Robert Edward Forchion, Jr. (I) in the general election.[6][7]
