Christopher S. Friend is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 124. He was first elected to the chamber in 2011.

He previously represented District 137 from 2011 to 2013. Friend has been involved with local government for the Town of Big Flats and elected to the Chemung County Legislature.


Friend earned a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire, and a MS and a PhD in Chemistry from State University of New York at Buffalo.[1]

Friend ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 124. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. He also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. He was unchallenged in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
