An effort to recall school board member Christopher Wright from his position was launched in June 2011. The recall effort was abandoned in August 2011 after failing to gather enough signatures. [1]

The recall effort was organized because opponents of Wright alleged that he ignored parents and their wishes and reportedly backed projects that waste money, according to reports close to the situation. Recall organizers had 60 days from the time the El Paso County Clerk approved the petitions to gather 4,306 signatures needed for the recall to be placed on the ballot. [2]
