Chuck Sims (b. February 19, 1958) is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 169th District since 1997.

Sims is an independent life insurance agent, and Vice President/Pre-Need Specialist of Sims Funeral Home Incorporated. He served as a Captain in the United States Army and Georgia National Guard from 1980-1996, and Company Commander in Operation Desert Storm, 848th En, Company from 1990-1991.

He in a member of many organizations, including Leadership Georgia, Douglas/Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, Douglas Lions Club, Society of Military Engineers, First United Methodist Church of Douglas, Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, National Guard Association of Georgia, and President of the Westside Elementary School Parent Teachers Association.[1]

Sims ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 169. Sims defeated Darwin Carter in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. No candidates filed to run in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4] Sims ran unopposed in the general election.[5]

Cited for DUI

On April 28, 2010, since was pulled over by Atlanta police and cited for DUI. In a released statement Sims wrote, "I realize this impacts my family, friends, colleagues and constituency, and I'm truly sorry for any embarrassment that I have caused. I am cooperating fully with the Atlanta Police Department to resolve this matter."[11]
