City of Bradbury Utility User Tax, Measure A was on the
April 10, 2012 ballot for voters in the City of Bradbury in
Los Angeles County, where it was
defeated.[1]
Measure A asked if a utility users tax should be instituted in the city. The tax would have varied between 1% and 8.75%. In its first year, it would have been 8.4%. The tax would have been in force for 5 years.
The city council, which voted to put Measure A on the ballot, thought it was needed in order to "maintain essential general city services and to meet the obligations of State and Federal Mandates."

Measure A: "Shall an Ordinance be adopted imposing a Utility Users Tax of between 1% and 8.75% (first year being 8.4%) in order to maintain essential general city services and meet the obligations of State and Federal Mandates, establish exemptions for low or very low income households inhabited by at least one senior citizen or disabled person receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and automatically terminating in five (5) years?"
