A City of Chattanooga Health Benefits for Domestic Partners Referendum will be on the August 7, 2014 election ballot for voters in the city of Chattanooga in the Hamilton County, Tennessee.

This measure is a veto referendum on an ordinance passed by the city council in Chattanooga, the fourth largest city in Tennessee, that would allow health benefits to be given to any domestic partner of a city employee. Immediately on the approval of this ordinance, a group of Chattanooga residents began collecting signatures to put this ordinance to a vote of the people. They were successful in their petition effort, giving the city council a chance to either repeal the ordinance or put it before voters in a referendum. Through inaction, they chose the latter option.[1]
