A City of Marina Hotel Tax Increase, Measure N was on the November 2, 2010 ballot for voters in the City of Marina in Monterey County.[1] It was approved.
Measure N increases the hotel tax that visitors to the city pay from 10% to 12%. The increased hotel tax will be in effect for five years. City of Marina voters also approved Measure M, a sales tax increase.
A simple majority vote was required for approval.

Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
| "To preserve funding for general city services, including maintaining firefighters and police officers for adequate emergency response, reducing crime, maintaining city streets and parks, and senior and youth programs, shall the City of Marina temporarily increase the transient occupancy tax (hotel tax) rate from ten percent to twelve percent with the increase to expire in five years and tax to revert to ten percent with all money staying locally to preserve Marina city services?" |
