A Clawson City Library Levy Increase measure will be on the May 3, 2011 ballot in the city of Clawson which is in Oakland County.

This measure seeks to increase the current library levy by a rate of $.33 per $1,000 of assessed property value in order to help pay for library services offered in the city.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the limitation on taxes which may be imposed each year for library purposes upon taxable property in the City of Clawson, County of Oakland, Michigan, be increased in an amount not to exceed 0.3333 of a mill ($0.3333 per $1,000 of taxable value) on the taxable value of all taxable property in the City of Clawson beginning with the July 1, 2011, levy, in perpetuity, in order to provide library funds for the City’s public library currently known as the Blair Memorial Library? If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated additional amount of $109,000 for the Library in 2011.[2]
