A Clawson City Operations Levy Increase measure will be on the February 28, 2012 ballot in the city of Clawson which is in Oakland County.
This measure seeks to increase the current levy by a rate of $4.24 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a period of ten years in order to help pay for operational costs of the city police, fire and public works departments.

The question on the ballot:
|| Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be imposed on taxable property in the City of Clawson be increased by 4.2398 mills ($4.2398 per thousand dollars of taxable value) for a period of ten (10) years, from 2012 through 2021, as new additional millage in excess of the limitation imposed by Michigan Compiled Laws section 211.34d, to restore City Charter millage authorization previously approved by the electors as reduced by operation of the Headlee amendment, to provide funds for general operating purposes, consisting of police, fire, public works, operations and continuation of existing services? It is estimated that 4.2398 mills would raise approximately $1,310,000 when first levied in 2012.
